The Assistance Program Offers Every Service Needed to Clean or Rebuild Your Home

  • Smoke Damage

Although perceived to be permanent, smoke damage can be removed. Smoke damage can be complicated to manage. Smoke can easily travel through different rooms in the house and can cause damage in areas that may seem like they were not affected. Smoke damage on walls tends to be more but ceilings will carry the extent of the damage. Therefore, it is ideal to hire professionals to repair the damage if it is too severe.

  • Deodorizing

A fire in your home or in your neighborhood can cause your home to smell like smoke. This is due to the smoke particles that attach to your walls, ceiling, furniture, and more. Deodorizing is a method to remove the smell but it requires multiples steps to be effective. Aerosol sprays and scented candles are not recommended for deodorizing as they may increase air pollution in your house. Due to the steps required, professional deodorizing services are recommended in order to ensure effectiveness.

  • Odor removal

Smoke damage can cause many health complications due to lingering particles which are presented as odor. Removing smoke odor can help restore your home back into a healthy environment but the process may require specialized cleaning methods. Due to the ability of smoke particles to attach to everything in the house, the only way to remove odor is to clean all items and surfaces affected by smoke damage.

  • Cleaning

Our cleaning process begins by removing any items that have been directly affected by the smoke damage. Clothing and upholstery can be washed or dry cleaned to remove odor. Solid surfaces, HVAC systems, and windows require more extensive cleaning. Our specialists are dedicated to cleaning every surface in the house. We also use Positive Pressure, HEPA air scrubbers, and air filters to clean the air in the house and remove any odors along with it.

  • Fire Restoration & Rebuild

Fire damage restoration requires multiple steps to be effective. Soot, debris, and odor removal require professional cleanup procedures that will need to cover every surface of your property. Our certified team members understand the fire damage restoration procedures and are committed to servicing our clients efficiently to help them get back into their homes quickly.

FAQ

Due to the circumstances, sometimes filing an insurance claim is not always the best option. There are steps you should take before proceeding to file a claim. For instance, it is best practice to determine the scope of the work that will be needed. An inspection can give you a quick estimate of the damage which then allows you to determine if involving your insurance company is necessary. To help you make the best-informed decision, give us a call. We will inspect your property free of charge.

Before you evacuate your property it is recommended that you:

  • Turn OFF your air conditioner and any similar appliances.
  • Close all windows and doors to prevent soot and ash from entering the property.
  • Lock all windows and doors to prevent theft and vandalism. (Unfortunately, people target vacant properties)
  • Take photos and record videos of your property to document everything before you leave.
  • Create a plan for your evacuation. Set up alerts, health warnings, air quality reports, and weather forecasts. Establish evacuation routes and become familiar with them.
  • Arrange and organize all of your items of importance ahead of time and have them ready for evacuation.
  • Store enough food, water, and medication to last several days.

Inhaling soot and smoke can be hazardous. Therefore, an N95 mask is recommended for use as it will capture any fine soot particles and protect you from inhaling them. DO NOT use dust masks, clothing, or bandanas as a face cover as they will not protect you from inhaling smoke and soot particles.

If you return home and find the conditions to be unlivable, STOP, make note of the conditions, and exit the property. Call an expert if you notice any of the following conditions:

  • A strong odor of soot and/or smoke inside the home.
  • Trails of soot and ash located around your windowsills and doorways. (Do not clean these areas. Take pictures of conditions and call an expert. Even if you’re not considering filing a claim).
  • The outside of your home has soot and ash located on the walls and roof (your home’s roof has vents and other openings that can allow smoke and soot to fill your attic).

If you return home and find that your home is intact and livable, here are some tips to help get you through the recovery period:

  • Stay inside the home and keep the doors and windows closed to prevent soot and ash from coming in.
  • Clean your home to remove any debris that may have gotten in.
  • Install high-efficiency air conditioning filters to help capture any fine particles from the smoke. Change the filters every 2 weeks during the first month, then monthly during the next 4-6 months.
  • Install an air purifier to help reduce any smoke, allergens, pathogens, and smoke odors in the air. This will help create a healthier indoor environment that will allow you to breathe without inhaling any harmful byproducts.

If you don’t have access to an air purifier, DO NOT burn any incense or candles to remove the odor. Aerosol sprays are also not recommended. Additionally, avoid using any gas, propane, wood burning stoves, and/or fireplaces. All of these can have harmful effects by increasing indoor air pollution. Instead, use a whole-house air cleaning device to help reduce indoor air pollution. A negative air machine is beneficial because it creates a vacuum effect that extracts the contaminated air from the indoor environment. The HEPA filters in the device are lab tested and are proven to capture 99.97% of air particles. A portable indoor air cleaning device is ideal for small spaces. It is recommended to find one that is certified by the State Air Resources Board to assure the quality and effectiveness. It is also recommended to only use HEPA filters with the device because they are proven to capture 99.97% of air particles.
